SOTE Tidy Perm Liquid L2 400ml Sodium bromate neutralizers are specialized oxidizing agents used in professional hair texture services. Unlike common hydrogen peroxide neutralizers which have an acidic pH and work very rapidly, sodium bromate operates at a neutral pH (around 6.0 to 7.0). This makes the formula significantly gentler, less aggressive, and more forgiving on compromised hair structures
Reforming Disulfide Bonds: When hair is wrapped around perm rods and treated with Lotion 1, its structural disulfide bonds are broken down so it can change shape. Lotion 2 (Sodium Bromate) is applied to rebuild and permanently lock those bonds into the shape of the roller.
Color and Tint Protection: Because sodium bromate is a milder oxidizer than hydrogen peroxide, it is highly favored for color-treated, tinted, or delicate hair. It minimizes color stripping or shifting during the neutralization process.
Soft, Moist Curl Definition: It is designed to yield moist, supple, natural-looking curls and reduce frizz rather than creating brittle or overly harsh, springy ringlets.
General Application & Use
Saturation: After the first perm lotion has processed and the hair has been thoroughly rinsed, Lotion 2 is applied evenly while the hair is still wrapped around the perm rods.
Timing: Because it is a gentler chemical, sodium bromate requires a longer processing time than peroxide—typically 10 to 15 minutes (often applied in two separate stages or passes for optimal penetration).
Rinse & Condition: Once fully processed, the rods are removed, the hair is rinsed meticulously with warm water, and an acidic or antioxidant conditioner is usually applied to help completely close the hair cuticle and return it to its natural pH balance.
